The Consortium Community

We are: Diverse. Inclusive. Collaborative.

ABOUT THE OMAHA CATHOLIC SCHOOL CONSORTIUM

The Consortium is home to 15% of the total elementary students enrolled in Metro Area Catholic schools within the Archdiocese of Omaha.

We strive to provide young people with a holistic and formative Catholic education that nurtures their God-given talents and encourages their relationship with Christ.

History of the Consortium

A Long Legacy of Impact

One hundred years ago, South Omaha was rich with immigrants who were Irish, Italian, Polish and German. Now, those same neighborhoods welcome Latino, Asian and African immigrants.

Consortium students today come from all across the Omaha Metro Area, but the majority of Consortium students come from neighborhoods in South Omaha.

Transforming Lives & Strengthening Neighborhoods

We welcome all students, Catholic and non-Catholic, believing that religious and cultural diversity enriches the school experience. Over 50% of our students are students of color, and three out of four are Catholic.

Overcoming Community

Challenges

In South Omaha and the surrounding neighborhoods, children face unique challenges. They are twice as likely to speak a language other than English, live without health insurance, experience double the child poverty rate and face nearly double the unemployment rate compared with peers in other parts of Douglas and Sarpy Counties.

We strive to make a positive impact for the children and families inside our schools and in our larger community.

Consortium schools reflect the rich cultural and socio-economic diversity of the neighborhoods we serve.
