Thank You Ignite the Faith Supporters!

The Omaha Catholic Consortium and its member schools have been blessed considerably by the generosity of contributions to the Ignite the Faith campaign. Funds from the campaign have enabled us to install air conditioning and provide other facility improvements during the early years of the consortium. Additionally, Ignite the Faith support has helped support significant technology enhancements at all five member schools. All of our teachers are equipped with iPads and each school has a mobile Chromebook laboratory for student classroom work. Now with the right technology tools in place, considerable attention is being given to ensure our teachers effectively use this new technology to maximize student learning.

Staff additions during the 2014-2015 school year included Sara Hood, an experienced teacher and former technology director with an extensive background using Chromebooks and iPads in the classroom. Hood works individually with our educators to help them develop skills in use of instructional technology. Her role enables teachers to create the best 21st century learning experience possible for consortium students. She assists teachers with classroom devices such as Smartboards, Apple TV, and iPads, as well as helps teachers integrate use of classroom aids such as Google Apps for education.

Hood describes her experience working with consortium staff as “extraordinarily positive,” and notes, “Everyone has a great desire to learn how to utilize what they have and to expand their teaching in a way that connects with our modern day students.”

The Omaha Catholic Consortium would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Ignite the Faith Campaign. Your generous support provided our schools with technology updates and the staff development opportunities necessary to implement best practices in instructional technology for our students.
