Nebraska Catholic Day of Giving: A unique way to support the Consortium
SOMETHING UNIQUELY CATHOLIC IS COMING: MAY 1 – NEBRASKA CATHOLIC DAY OF GIVING
Imagine you are 10 years old. You love to learn. You dream of a school where you are welcomed, inspired and challenged. You dream of a school that not only provides quality academics but also teaches values and servant leadership. You dream of a school where you develop life-long friendships, receive individualized instruction, excel in team sports, express your creativity, embrace cultural diversity, and celebrate your faith. For nearly 1,700 children, this dream is a reality at the Omaha Catholic School Consortium.
Founded in 2012, the Omaha Catholic School Consortium offers a dynamic community of six schools – Holy Cross, Our Lady of Lourdes, St. Bernadette, Sts. Peter and Paul, St. Thomas More and the Dual Language Academy at St. Joan of Arc – designed to foster growth and curiosity in academics and faith. Committed to providing a high-quality, affordable, Christ-centered education to students from diverse backgrounds, our schools prepare students for higher education and careers while nurturing personal and spiritual growth.
Consortium schools serve as safe and inclusive learning spaces for those seeking a sense of belonging and a strong foundation of faith, including many children living in challenging economic conditions. Students know that when they arrive at school, they are welcomed into a caring and encouraging community that places the utmost importance on faith and respect.
“From the principal down to the volunteer lunch helpers, the community at Holy Cross is committed to the children entrusted in their care. It’s a wonderful feeling knowing you’re sending your kids to school at a place where they’re cared for sincerely,” shared Kelsea and Jake Tooley, Holy Cross parents.
The benefits of our community transcend the physical boundaries of any one school building. We celebrate together, work together and worship together. Every member of the Consortium family — pastors and parishioners, administrators, faculty and staff, students and parents — shares the same dedication to helping each student surpass their potential and achieve success. Through this collaborative community of schools, we are achieving more efficient cost management, curriculum enhancements, staff development and classroom innovations. But we cannot do it alone.
Join us on May 1 and make a difference by supporting the Omaha Catholic School Consortium during the Nebraska Catholic Day of Giving (formerly known as Joy of Giving Day).
Funds raised during the Nebraska Catholic Day of Giving will support the Together in Christ Annual Fund. The Together in Christ Annual Fund is a collaborative effort to strengthen our Catholic identity, sustain our schools financially, continue our tradition of academic excellence and maintain affordable tuition. Tuition only covers roughly one third of the cost to educate a child at our schools. The remaining amount is covered by parish support and development efforts like the Together in Christ Annual Fund.
“I am filled with excitement and anticipation for what God has in store for our schools,” said Tammy Blossom, board chair. “Our mission to provide an exceptional Catholic education to our students remains as strong as ever, and we are committed to a tradition of excellence.”
Your generosity during the Nebraska Catholic Day of Giving helps provide tuition assistance, enhance programs and promote diversity in our schools. Let’s unite in our commitment to nurturing the next generation of faith-filled leaders!
