Get to Know: Mrs. Mariah Barrett, teacher at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School
Get to know Mrs. Mariah Barrett
Mrs. Barrett (formerly Mrs. Townsend) is a teacher at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School. She celebrated her marriage this Fall. She said, “It has been really sweet seeing my students share in the many joys of wedding planning and seeing them get so excited about their teacher’s big event! It truly shows how caring and love they are.”
The culture at Sts. Peter and Paul is indeed close-knit. About the school community, Mrs. Barrett also said, “We have created an inclusive environment where all students feel welcomed.”
This is why our Catholic schools are so important.
“A Catholic education allows children to learn about their faith in a safe and comfortable environment. Catholic schools strive to build up the future of the Church, the living Body of Christ.”
An alumnae of Archdiocese of Omaha Catholic Schools herself, Barrett attended St. Matthew Catholic School in Bellevue for preschool through eighth grade. She also graduated from Gross Catholic High School. Barrett attended the College of St. Benedict in Minnesota. Between her teaching duties, she has also received a Masters degree from Doane, as well as an endorsement to teach English as a Second Language (ESL). Barrett even teaches ESL during the summer at the University of Notre Dame as part of the Alliance for Catholic Education’s New Language/Catholic School Advantage Program. Wow!
When she’s not busy positively impacting future leaders, Mariah can be found reading, running, crocheting or shopping at Target.
We’re happy to have you at the Omaha Catholic School Consortium. Thanks for all your good work!
