Consortium Announces Highest-Ever Reading Test Scores
We are proud to announce a significant milestone in our commitment to academic excellence. Our latest reading test scores have reached an all-time high, showcasing the dedication and hard work of our students, educators and community.
Consortium students take STAR standardized tests three times throughout the year, and the most recent results from Winter testing highlights a consistent upward trajectory in reading scores in all grades.
“Our educators have been working hard over the last year studying academic data and making adjustments to instructional methods to help students grow more – and faster,” said Andrew Bauer, Consortium Director of Education.
Key highlights from the Winter Reading Scores:
- A steady increase in students who met or exceeded grade level expectations, from 52.4% in Fall 2020-2021 to 72.10% in Winter 2024-2025
- Winter 2024-2025 STAR Reading Benchmarks saw notable increases from previous Winter benchmarking periods:
- Winter 2021 (60.90%); Winter 2022 (60.40%); and Winter 2024 (64.90%)
- This recent growth in Student Growth Percentile is the highest recorded in Consortium history.
- For the Fall to Winter 2024-2025 benchmarking period, Holy Cross Catholic School was ranked the second highest in the Archdiocese of Omaha for STAR Reading Student Growth Percentile scores. Our Lady of Lourdes, another Consortium school, was ranked as the third highest.
This achievement is especially significant considering the current trend of declining reading scores nationally and in other nearby schools and districts.
“We are thrilled to continue this upward trend and remain dedicated to fostering a supportive and enriching learning environment for our students. All of us at the Consortium will continue to innovate and adapt to ensure that our students achieve their fullest potential,” says Bauer.
