Get to Know: Michael Goetz, Consortium Catholic Schools’ New Executive Director

In an effort to better get to know the students and staff around our six Catholic schools, we periodically bring you interviews with those who are a part of the Consortium.

Below is a Q & A with Mike Goetz, who began in August 2020 as the Executive Director of the Omaha Catholic School Consortium. Mike has decades of experience in the corporate world, most recently at Elections System and Software. All at the Consortium are excited for the expertise he will bring to staff. Mike has also been involved with many committees in the Catholic community and is a faithful member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Omaha, along with wife.

Enjoy getting to know Mike.

Q: How does learning and talking about your faith every day feel?

A: Up until now, my career has been in the secular business world where prayer and faith discussions are not very common.  It is refreshing to open meetings with a prayer and to regularly discuss how we can best form disciples of Christ in our schools.

Q: What do you like most about your position and why?

A: While I am just in my role for a few weeks, I am already seeing opportunities where I can help take our consortium schools to the next level.  Additionally. I’m looking forward to working with the administrators, teachers, pastors, business office staff and families.
